Visualizing the Mandorla

In this video, we will explore a Mindfulness Meditation practice called Visualizing the Mandorla.

In this nondual practice, we find that we can:

  • reconnect with a deeper part within ourselves often buried in binaries.
  • glimpse unity amidst deep uncertainty.
  • reveal a hidden wholeness in ourselves and our relationships.

Visualizing the Mandorla

Script

Meditate on your own or with a group

  • Settle into a comfortable position.
  • Tune into your natural cadence of breath.
  • Find the part of you that’s listening, maybe located in your head, and invite it to relax.
  • Now, shift your awareness to feel into the space outside of your body.
  • Feel the space reverberating from your feet and legs...your hips and chest...shoulders and arms...and finally out from your head.
  • Breathing in and out, feel the space reverberating from outside of your full body all at once.
  • As thoughts come, welcome them and return to this Presence.
  • Having sensed this presence outside of you, be aware of the Presence inside of you.
  • Presence is aware of every sensation inside your body.
  • Now, let the space inside your body, and the space outside your body, be one space. One interpenetrating presence.
  • Notice that it’s difficult to tell where you end and where you begin.
  • Rest here, in the Mandorla. This both/and, this overlap, the interpenetration of Presence encompasses who we are and who we think we are.
  • Every part of you, and every part of me.
  • We are one, resting in harmony.
