Spiritual Heart Meditation

Guided Meditation

In this meditation we will attempt to descend our mind into the heart. The aim of this practice is to shift your awareness to the deep center of your being. Different than the physical or emotional heart, the spiritual heart is the natural home of prayer and meditation.

Script

Meditate on your own or with a group

  1. Sit in a position that is comfortable for you.
  2. Take a deep breath, notice the inhalation and exhalation as you begin to bring awareness to this practice and your intention to drop into the spiritual heart.
  3. With curiosity, welcome all things that come and go in this moment.
  4. Focus your attention on the part of you that problem solves, manages, worries, or leads you through the day’s drama.
  5. Perhaps it's in your head, right behind your eyes and in between your ears.
  6. Let this "problem solver" or ego take a rest.
  7. Slowly, drop a line of awareness from this headspace down into the deep heart space.
  8. Watch your awareness drop down like a falling leaf.
  9. Watch it float down past your jaw, neck, shoulder, chest, heart.
  10. Breathe into and out from this deep heart space.
  11. Rest here in the spiritual Heart.
  12. Simply let go and let be.
