As the mind settles when we sit in meditation, we are better able to see the activities of the mind from an objective point of view. Instead of needing to fix or change anything, we can instead expand our awareness to everything that is taking place in the present moment. 

For instance, sounds may be considered a distraction or they can be the focus of your attention. The best way to understand this change is to try it.  Shall we?
