How do we shift our perception to see the hidden beauty in life? In this practice, we will approach seeing life with a reverence with the hope that beauty will make itself known. 

This is a wonderful exercise to practice out in nature if you have access to the outdoors. 



Script

Meditate on your own or with a group

  1. Start with taking a deep breath in, and out.
  2. Feel the weight of your body being held by whatever you are resting on.
  3. Feel what it’s like to be held in this moment.
  4. Now, slowly open your eyes and soften your focus.
  5. Be aware of the space around you.
  6. Imagine that everything in this space is absolutely, incredibly beautiful.
  7. Imagine that you are now able to see this hidden beauty in everything
  8. Notice the inherent beauty.
  9. Now, shift your awareness to notice a single object in this space. 
  10. Imagine that this object is absolutely beautiful the way it is, right now
  11. What is it like to be truly aware of beauty?
  12. Now, invite this object to turn and look back at you
  13. If comfortable, gently close your eyes.
  14. What do you notice? What is it like to be seen?
  15. Rest here, with a sense of awe...being aware and appreciative of beauty.
