Ascension Mission

In these times of suffering, fear, and distancing
We hear the language of war tossed about
Used intentionally
On the front lines
Fighting against an invisible enemy
Victory will be ours.

In these times of journeying with others in their suffering
Through their fear
Across distances
We find words radically different from those of wartime
Compassion
Kindness
Connection.

In these times of realizing new dimensions of our human suffering
New ways fear may manifest
New distances that separate us
We also find our humanity
Our connection
A new awakening to that which has always been
And can now be seen more distinctly with eyes that see
And hearts that feel
And souls that sing.
